NBA Sunday Aftermath


Dwight Howard scored 18 points and added 15 rebounds as the Orlando Magic held beat the Boston Celtics 86-79.

Hedo Turkoglu scored 16 points for the Magic, who led by 18 at the half and held the Celtics to a season-low 33 points after two quarters, while Ray Allen scored 23 of his 32 points in the second half for Boston who have already clinched a play-off berth.

In San Antonio, Tony Parker scored 30 points and added eight assists to the Spurs to a 103-98 victory over the Phoenix Suns

Tim Duncan chipped in 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Spurs, while Steve Nash scored 23 points and added 11 assists for Phoenix (34-29), who have lost four straight and has fallen four games behind Dallas (38-25) for the eighth and final play-off spot in the West.

Deron Williams scored 25 points and handed out nine assists to lead the Utah Jazz to their 11th straight victory with a 109-101 win over the slumping Toronto Raptors. Utah have won 14 of their last 15 games while the Raptors are winless in their past five.

The New Jersey Nets secured a critical win in the race for the Eastern Conference's final play-off spot with a 106-101 triumph over the New York Knicks thanks to 35 points and 10 assists from Devin Harris.

New Jersey (28-35) are one game behind the idle Chicago Bulls (29-34) for the eighth seed in the East, while the Knicks (25-37) are three and a half games back.

Elsewhere, Nenad Krstic recorded 20 points and eight rebounds as the Oklahoma City Thunder posted a 89-74 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers to record a fourth win in five contests, while Yao Ming collected 24 points and 17 rebounds as the Houston Rockets continued their success without Tracy McGrady by posting Sunday's 93-83 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Finally, Kevin Martin scored 26 points, dished out eight assists and grabbed seven rebounds as the Sacramento Kings posted a 114-106 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
