An examinee of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) was killed and his father injured seriously as a truck hit them near Kumira bus stand in Tala upazila this morning.
The deceased was identified as Shariful Islam, son of Abdul Khaleq and a student of Nagarghata Kazi Nazrul Islam Bidyapith.
Police said when Shariful was going to Kumira High School centre along with his father riding a bicycle at about 8:30am, the speeding truck hit them, leaving Shariful dead on the spot.
Abdul Khaleq was rushed to Sadar hospital in critical condition.
Local people caught the truck driver. A case was filed in this connection.
