Muttiah Muralitharan Takes ODI Wickets Record....


Muttiah Muralitharan became One Day International cricket's highest wicket-taker when he induced Gautam Gambhir to edge to Kumar Sangakkara in the fourth match between Sri Lanka and India at Colombo...

The off-spinner went into the match level with Pakistan's Wasim Akram on 502 and the wicket came shortly after Gambhir had reached 150 and his attempted cut took an edge with wicket-keeper Sangakkara claiming a smart catch...

India went on to hit 332 for five...

Muralitharan, who also holds the world record in Tests with 769, 764 of those coming for Sri Lanka, broke the record which had stood for 14 and a half years...
